THE REGULATIONS

”Adamello Trail” (AT) is a 100 km long run with 6.050 m of elevation gain, to be run in semi self-sufficiency. The organizer is ASD Adamello Ultra Trail, with the cooperation of the Unione dei Comuni Alta Valle Camonica.

The start of the race is set for Friday, September 20, at 7 AM from the Event Centre in Vezza d’Oglio (address: Via Del Piano, 1).

The maximum time allowed to finish the race is 31 hours.

The Adamello Ultra-Trail® route is mainly conducted on mountain trails and forest tracks. Participating in this sort of event, however, is limited to athletes with proven long-distance races and high mountain environments experience, aware of the length of the race, and with autonomy skills such as to be able to handle the best, with no extra help, the various issues that may arise in this specialty (night walking, prohibitive weather conditions, physical or mental fatigue, discomfort, inflammation or muscle problems, injuries, etc.). Participants are required to have viewed the route beforehand and deemed it suitable for their technical and athletic abilities (presenting the related signed declaration when collecting the bib number).
To take part in the competition the athlete must be 18 years of age and in possession of a medical certificate of suitability for competitive practice (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6 – high intensity cardiovascular activity) valid at the time of the competition for the following disciplines: athletics, skyrunning, mountaineering, ski mountaineering, cross-country skiing and cycling. National health insurance card is mandatory and, for foreigners, the form E111 or this form.

When registering, athletes sign up to start and finish the race by carrying the following mandatory equipment at all times (checks may be performed during the race):

  • Thermal blanket 
  • Long-sleeved pile
  • hooded jacket Padded duvet, primaloft or similar with impermeable layer or alternatively long-sleeved Jersey + fleece jersey or thick clothing+ waterproof layer (always 3 layers, one of which must have the hood)
  • long pants to the ankle pants or alternatively 3/4 pants with soks long
  • Gloves and cap;
  • At least 1 headlamp (better 2) with spare batteries 
  • phone with charged batteries with security number gave from the organization
  • Whistle;
  • water bottle or camelbag with minimum capacity 11 glasses + personal glass (no refuges glasses)
  • appropriate footwear for trailrunning
  • first aid kit (bandages, elastic bandage)
  • Crampons
  • GPS device
  • Waterproof pants cover
  • Food stocks
  • Money (presence of huts and shelters along the way)
  • Poles

The route will be marked with flags fitted with reflectors for night vision. Participation at the AT requires however a good sense of direction in the mountains We recommend the use of a GPS device. The complete track of the trail is available online and will be updated promptly in case of any changes to the circuit.

Competitors are obliged to follow the path outlined by the organization without taking any short cut. Cut or leave the course is dangerous for the competitors and Will result in disqualification from the event.

Competitors out of time or in difficulty will have to abandon the race only at a checkpoint where they will be accompanied downstream from the organization’s staff. In case of illness or injury, it will be alerted the organization. The racer who abandons the race without notifying immediately, will be responsible for all expenses related startup of research by rescue personnel.

At each stage of the race, the competitors will move autonomously and self-sufficient, without help and / or external assistance, except use the supplies organization. It is admitted refuel and / or stay in public places in time of exercise along the way. Competitors who wish to camp out along the way, will have to do it in places manned by the organization.

Must be respected private property, by not using structures or artifacts encountered along the way, penalty will be disqualification.

Forbidden throw litter or leave objects along the way, will be disqualified. Competitors, in case of need, they are required to lend each other assistance.

All decisions will be made at the discretion of the jury as final. There are the following penalties:

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct, threats / insults for athletes / organizers / volunteers or actions that could be considered hazardous to their safety or that may affect the smooth running of the race = disqualification
  • Missing a check point = disqualification
  • Quitting or taking shortcuts = disqualification
  • Leaving trash behind or damaging the environment = disqualification
  • Not helping a participant who is in trouble = disqualification
  • External assistance unauthorized = from 30 min to disqualification (use of means of transport in the race = disqualification)
  • Refusing to be checked or missing mandatory equipment: disqualification

Along the way are prepared by the organization checkpoints where competitors have to pass and sign the table of input and output,( failure to pass by a checkpoint = disqualification). In each control point is assured water supply and food. Each runner will have to make sure to have, at the start of each checkpoint, water and food sufficiently to reach the next supply point.

Athletes who do not respect the established time barrier will be excluded from the competition. Following this exclusion, the athlete – if the delay was due to reasons other than physical indisposition – will have to return to the valley following the instructions of the security staff. The athlete who does not respect the maximum time set by the gate due to physical and/or health problems will be taken care of by the Organization, which will take care of accompanying him back to the valley.

At the time barrier and at any point along the route, the Organization – at the unquestionable discretion of the healthcare assisting personnel – may exclude the competitor deemed no longer physically capable of continuing the competition even in the event of passing the expected gate.

In the Ponte di Legno area, there is a Life Base where you can have your bags transported, by prior agreement with the organization.

The abandonment of a competitor in difficulty, spontaneously or upon the decision of the jury and / or one of the doctors of the organization, it must take place at the nearest checkpoint, where the competitor will be given to the organization’s staff and accompanied downstream .

The competitor who spontaneously abandons the race must communicate this at one control point by showing his bib number. In the event that the withdrawal does not require medical intervention, the athlete will have to return independently to the start, informing the staff present at the control point. With voluntary abandonment, not resulting from reasons of physical impediment and with the communication of said abandonment to the employees on the route, any assistance relationship on the part of the Organization ceases. The return to the valley of the athlete who has abandoned the competition not due to physical problems will therefore take place without any responsibility for the Organisation.
Following the competitors on the entirety of the route there will be “track-closers” who will follow the last athletes, thus guaranteeing, once the event is over, the absence of participants still competing on the route.

The Organization requires all athletes to have the utmost respect for the environment. Competitors are asked not to throw glasses, paper and waste of any kind on the ground. There are special containers available at the refreshment points. Those who do not comply with these provisions will be given a thirty minute penalty.
The Organization is not responsible for the loss/theft of material or personal effects left unattended before, during and after the race, at the race office or in the start and finish areas.

By registering, the athlete expressly authorizes the Organization to use free of charge the images, still and/or moving, that portray him or her during the participation in the competition in question. The Organization may therefore transfer the rights to use the images rights to its institutional and commercial partners. This authorization for the use of your image must be considered granted for an indefinite period and without territorial limits, for use in various promotional and/or advertising publications and films and made on any type of support.

For those signing up within June 30th, the fee is the same as last year of 90,00 euros. From July 1st and until the registrations’ deadline, the fee will be of 110,00 euros.

By the act of registration competitors release the organizers from all civil and criminal action against persons and property for damage that may occur during and after the race in relation to the same. Payment will be made by bank transfer.

Registrations are open until September 8, 2024 or when the maximum amount of athletes is reached.

Wins the race the runner who reaches the finishing of Vezza d’Oglio in the shortest possible time. It will be made a general classification for man and woman and a classification for each male and female category. Prizes for the first 6 men and first 6 women. Every runner who completes the race will receive the “finisher” prize. Every runner who completes the race will receive the “finisher” prize.

The awarding ceremony for the 100 km race, will be held on Saturday, September 24th, starting from 4.30 PM at Centro Eventi in Vezza d’Oglio, starting and finishing point of the race.

A total of 15 finishers on the 170 and 100 km races will have the chance to access to TOR330 – Tor des Géants® 2025 without going through the lottery draft

The Organization, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to modify the routes, postpone the start, temporarily suspend or definitively interrupt the races for all or part of the competitors, if there is something that could seriously compromise the safety of the athletes or people present along the route (e.g. air rescue operations, rock falls or other).

The Organization may decide, in case of particularly difficult weather conditions, to suspend the races during their progress: in this case the ranking will be drawn up based on the passes made at the last control.

Should the race be canceled due to circumstances beyond our control up to 15 days before the race, the Organisers reserve the right to refund 80% of the registration fee paid or the athlete can keep his registration valid for one of the two subsequent editions of your choice. This percentage is calculated to enable the Organisers to cover part of the expenses incurred which cannot be recovered.

Should the race be canceled or interrupted for atmospheric reasons, or for any other reason beyond our control, no refund of the registration fee will be made.

The order in the list follows the order of receiving this form by the organisation. When an athlete withdraws his/her registration to a selected race, the organisation will get in touch with you to confirm your will to participate in the race mentioned. Once confirmed, all information needed to complete the sign up will be provided, otherwise the next name on the list will be reached out to.
